On March 28th the First-year Symposium will take place. The symposium is from 13:00-17:00 pm in the Faberzaal. The theme will be "Health amongst students: from STD to psychology.".
The SSS committee put together a programme with a wide variety of interesting topics and is as follows:
13:00-13:05: Word of welcome - Ruud Stapel
13:05-13:15: Introduction theme - Edgard Weening (chairman)
13:15-14:05: "Alcohol and drugs amongst students" - Robert van de Graaf (VNN)
14:05-14:55: "General student diseases" - Hylkia van Meer (general practitioner) and Edgard Weening (pharmacist)
14:55-15:10: Coffee break
15:10-16:00: "Mental health issues" - Annelien Beens and Maronja de Jongh (both Forte GGZ)
16:00-16:50: "STD management carried out by GGD Soa Sense" - Jan van der Have (GGD)
16:50-17:00: End - Ruud Stapel
For first year students this symposium is obligatory and part of the course 'Academic Research & Communication Skills'.
