On Wednesday, February 5, 2025, the Scientific Symposium will take place. The Dies Committee has chosen 'You are my RemeDIES' as the theme this year. The theme of the symposium this year will be: 'You are my RemeDIES: The importance of donors in patient treatment'. Multiple speakers related to the theme are present to give a talk at the Symposium. After the opening of the Symposium by the Dies Committee and the 143rd board, Prof. dr. D.J. Touw will give a small introduction of the day and the topic of the Symposium. After that, psychiatrist Dr. W.S. Lexmond and Dr. C.I. Buis will give the first presentation about the liver transplant program in the UMCG and is followed by a short coffee break. After that, Dr. M.B. Mulder will speak about the role of a pharmacist in the transplant process and the drugs which are given as treatment. The next speaker, Dr. P. Mian will talk about clinical pharmacology within pediatric transplant patients. After the lunch break, Dr. T.J. Zijp will talk about the optimalization of tacrolimus treatment. Followed by a talk of Prof. dr. S.J.L. Bakker about TransplantLines, a data- and biobank in the UMCG. After the final coffee break Sjors van Kats from ETB-BISLIFE will talk about the multi-tissue center that receives, processes, stores and distributes donated human tissues from deceased and living donors.
The program can be found here. The NVZA and KNMP both give 4.5 accreditation points. Members of Pharmaciae Sacrum can register on this page. Non-members of P.S. can register via the registration form. You can register for the symposium until Friday the 31st of January 2025.
The doors open at 09:00 am and the Symposium will start at 09.30 am and takes place at Pathé, Gedempt Zuiderdiep 78. The costs are €100,00 for non-members, €40,00 for alumni of G.F.S.V “Pharmaciae Sacrum” and €3,00 for students.
The symposium is compulsory for students who take part in the ProPharm 3 course. These students do not have to register and pay. There are approximately 40 places available for other students. 50% of the remaining spots will be reserved for ProPharm, if the other 50% is not filled, these spots can also be divided. When signing up, let us know if you want to let this activity count for ProPharm and for which year. If more than approximately 40 students sign up a draw will be held on January 29th.
