Op woensdag 4 februari 2026 wordt de 144e Dies Natalis feestelijk geopend op het wetenschappelijke symposium van G.F.S.V. “Pharmaciae Sacrum”. Het onderwerp van dit jaar is: “Addiction: from pill to person”. Er zullen zes sprekers over het thema ‘verslaving’ spreken, elk vanuit een ander vakgebied zodat het thema van meerdere kanten wordt belicht. Na dat de Dies Natalis en het symposium zijn geopend met een kort praatje van de voorzitter van de vereniging en de voorzitter van de diescommissie zal drs. Edgard Weening als dagvoorzitter het symposium kort inleiden. Hierna zal dr. Robert van de Graaf (verslavings- en leefstijlarts) spreken over de kwetsbaarheid van apothekers en farmaciestudenten voor middelengebruik en de ethische verantwoordelijkheid die gepaard gaat met onze kennis over de middelen. Na een korte koffiepauze zal dr. Jeroen Roosendaal (Toxicoloog bij het NFI) vertellen over zijn werk als forensisch toxicoloog. Roosendaal gaat in op de vraag hoe toxicologie wordt toegepast om drugsgebruik, doodsoorzaken en strafrechtelijke verantwoordelijkheid te onderzoeken aan de hand van voorbeelden uit de praktijk. Na de presentatie van dr. Roosendaal zal dr. Hanne Rozema (AIOS ziekenhuisfarmacie in het UMCG) een lezing geven over de toepassing van Drugs of abuse (DOA) screenings bij intoxicaties, verslavingszorg en arbeidsgeneeskunde. Na de lunchpauze zal prof. dr. Arie Dijkstra (Hoogleraar aan de Rijksuniversiteit Groningen) uitleggen wat verslavend gedrag psychologisch gezien kenmerkt en hoe gedragsveranderingen bevorderd kunnen worden, zowel bij patiënten als bij zorgprofessionals. Na de laatste koffiepauze zal Dr. Matthijs Bossong (Hoofd klinisch onderzoek Bedrocan) de positieve kant van een potentieel verslavend middel belichten. Dr. Bossong bespreekt de invloed van cannabis op hersenfunctie en psychiatrische stoornissen, zo biedt hij ons inzicht in de neurobiologische mechanismen van cannabis. Tot slot zal dhr. Bill de Smeth (preventiefunctionaris bij Verslavingszorg Noord Nederland) vertellen over zijn werk als preventiefunctionaris en gaat hij in op actuele vragen als: ‘bestaat er zoiets als verantwoordelijk drugsgebruik?’. Na het wetenschappelijke programma vindt er op locatie een borrel plaats.


Het programma is hier te vinden. Voor ziekenhuisapothekers zal de accreditatie 5 punten bedragen en voor openbare apothekers zal de accreditatie 4,5 punten bedragen. Leden van Pharmaciae Sacrum kunnen zich op deze pagina of op het P.S.-hok aanmelden. Niet-leden en alumni van P.S. kunnen zich aanmelden via het aanmeldingsformulier. Inschrijven voor het symposium kan t/m zondag 1 februari 2026.


Het symposium vindt plaats in het Feringa gebouw, Nijenborgh 3, 9747 AG te Groningen. Vanaf 09:00 uur is de inloop met koffie en thee. Om 09:30 uur zal het symposium aanvangen. De kosten voor het symposium bedragen €100,- voor niet-leden. De kosten voor het symposium voor alumni van G.F.S.V. ''Pharmaciae Sacrum'' bedragen €40,- en de kosten voor leden bedragen €3,- 


Voor leden die zijn ingeschreven voor het vak Professionalism in Pharmacy 2 is het bijwonen van het symposium verplicht. Deze leden hoeven zich niet aan te melden en hoeven niet te betalen. Er zijn ongeveer 80 plaatsen beschikbaar voor overige studenten. Van de resterende plaatsen wordt 50% gereserveerd voor ProPharm; als de andere 50% niet wordt gevuld, kunnen deze plaatsen alsnog worden verdeeld. Geef bij aanmelding aan of je deze activiteit wilt laten meetellen voor ProPharm en voor welk jaar. Indien meer dan ongeveer 80 studenten zich aanmelden, zal op 28 januari een loting plaatsvinden.

On Wednesday, 4 February 2026, the 144th Dies Natalis will be festively opened at the scientific symposium of G.F.S.V. “Pharmaciae Sacrum”. This year’s theme is: “Addiction: from pill to person.” Six speakers will address the topic of addiction, each from a different field, providing a multidisciplinary perspective on the theme.After a brief opening speech by the chair of the association and the chair of the Dies committee, Drs. Edgard Weeningwill introduce the symposium in his role as moderator. Following this, Dr. Robert van de Graaf (addiction and lifestyle physician) will discuss the vulnerability of pharmacists and pharmacy students to substance use, as well as the ethical responsibility that accompanies our knowledge of these substances.After a short coffee break, Dr. Jeroen Roosendaal (Toxicologist at the Netherlands Forensic Institute) will speak about his work as a forensic toxicologist. Roosendaal will explain how toxicology is used to investigate drug use, causes of death, and criminal responsibility, illustrated with real-world examples. Following Dr. Roosendaal’s presentation, Dr. Hanne Rozema (Resident in Hospital Pharmacy at the UMCG) will give a lecture on the application of Drugs of Abuse (DOA) screenings in cases of intoxication, addiction care, and occupational medicine. After the lunch break, Prof. Dr. Arie Dijkstra (Professor at the University of Groningen) will explain the psychological characteristics of addictive behaviour and how behavioural changes can be promoted, both in patients and healthcare professionals. After the final coffee break, Dr. Matthijs Bossong (Head of Clinical Research at Bedrocan) will highlight the positive side of a potentially addictive substance. Dr. Bossong will discuss the influence of cannabis on brain function and psychiatric disorders, offering insight into the neurobiological mechanisms of cannabis. To conclude, Mr. Bill de Smeth (Prevention Officer at Verslavingszorg Noord Nederland) will speak about his work in prevention and address current questions such as: “Does responsible drug use exist?” After the scientific programme, there will be a drink on location.

For hospital pharmacists, accreditation will amount to 5 points and for community pharmacists accreditation will amount to 4,5 points. Members of Pharmaciae Sacrum can register on this page or at the P.S. room. Non-members and P.S. alumni can register via the registration form. Registration for the symposium is possible until Sunday, 1 February 2026.

These members do not need to register and pay. ​There are approximately 80 places available for other students. 50% of the remaining spots will be reserved for ProPharm, if the other 50% is not filled, these spots can also be divided. When signing up, let us know if you want to let this activity count for ProPharm and for which year. If more than approximately 80 students sign up a draw will be held on January 28th.
